Primary Objectives
The Museum Technician is a key line-level position role responsible for assisting in guided tours, conducting research on Creek Indian history, assisting in setting up museum exhibits, working in the museum gift shop, greeting and engaging guests, and supporting the Manager-Museum with daily operations, including report preparation and other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions
  • Conducts guided tours of the museum, providing educational and engaging information about Creek Indian history and culture.
  • Researches Creek Indian history to assist in content development for exhibits and educational materials.
  • Assists in setting up and maintaining museum exhibits, ensuring proper display and preservation of artifacts.
  • Provides customer service and sales support in the museum gift shop, assisting with transactions, restocking, and merchandising.
  • Greets guests upon arrival, answer inquiries, and provide a welcoming environment for visitors.
  • Assists the Manager-Museum with daily operational tasks, including administrative duties, reports, and event coordination.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of exhibits, public areas, and storage spaces.
  • Supports museum events, educational programs, and outreach initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the museum.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in history, museum studies, or related fields is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a museum, cultural center, customer service, or educational setting preferred.
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn about Creek Indian history, culture, and traditions.
  • Ability to work odd and irregular hours, as needed.
  • Must successfully pass the required criminal and character background check.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license and insurable driving record according to Tribal insurance guidelines.
  • Ability to travel and participate in required training, leadership development, and other events.
  • Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of this position adequately and successfully.

Compensation and Benefits
  • The starting pay will depend on factors such as experience level and skillset.
