Job Description

The Human Resources Assistant oversees the process of hiring, training and reporting time clock hours for all employees. The Human Resources Assistant will report directly to the Human Resources Manager and the General Manager of the facility. They are responsible for assisting each area with scheduling, training, and supervising a team of up to 200 staff. Ensuring the smooth operation of all HR needs and providing an exceptional employee experience.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, and the ability to easily manage high-pressure situations, and be able to organize paperwork in a quick paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Staff Management: Recruit, schedule, train, and support a team of 200 staff members to perform well across the park.
  • Performance Management: Provide on going feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations to ensure all staff deliver high-quality performances.
  • Employee Relations: Address employee concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner, and ensure a safe area for the employees.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with management, coworkers, all staff members regarding the show schedules, performance expectations, and any issues that may arise.
  • Training: Participate in performing during employee training, demonstrating a strong understanding of the staff roles while maintaining high energy and enthusiasm.
  • Problem Solving: Quickly and calmly resolve issues or emergencies that may arise during performances to ensure the safety of all staff members.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with all departments, such as operations and security, to coordinate efforts and achieve overall park goals.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all park policies, procedures, safety requirements, and enforce rules and guidelines as necessary.
  • Legalities: Be able to complete employer responsibilities to report all documents to the appropriate area. Included but not limited to; tax forms, reporting employee hours, coordination with the Social Security Administration, employee injuries and workers compensation
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and recommend strategies to enhance the quality of the different attractions and the overall employee experience.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a similar entertainment or environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, guests, and operations management.
  • Ability to take constructive criticism from higher management on areas to improve within the workplace.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, with flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and priorities.
  • Ability to work weekends and several week days throughout August, September, and every night of October. Some work may be required through the first weeks of November.
  • Able to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering excellence.
  • Ability to complete organize paperwork in a safe and correct matter.
  • Ability to work quickly on an Apple computer, iPad and iPhone.
  • Able to pass a background check.
