Job Description About the Role Wirecutter is looking for a video producer with a video background to coordinate production and contribute to the onsite experience and audience growth across off-platform channels. As audience development strategist, you will work with teams across Wirecutter — from experts in editorial to fellow strategists in social — supporting daily video production. This includes pitching, scriptwriting, shooting, editing and publishing. In short, bringing Wirecutter’s best-in-class guides and advice to life on video. Wirecutter’s videos are a respite. They inform and delight our followers (and new audiences) with tips, hacks, and insights that make their lives easier — and give them a behind-the-scenes look into the rigorous testing that separates Wirecutter from the rest. You are passionate about visual storytelling and excited to experiment with new formats in innovative ways. You’ll bring a spirit of collaboration, molding and directing some of our in-house experts into video contributors and, in some cases, camera-ready talent. You will also track video successes and opportunities, pivoting your approach based on data and insights. You will learn our publishing platform and become an expert at working within its formats and guidelines. This role is based in New York, with the expectation that you’ll produce shoots at Wirecutter’s Long Island City office, at The New York Times’s headquarters, and at a variety of off-site locations.
