Position Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Shop Porter / Quality Control Technician to support our shop operations and ensure high-quality service delivery. This hybrid position combines general shop support with hands-on technician responsibilities, making it an ideal starting point for individuals pursuing a career in automotive repair.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Control and Inspection:

• Perform visual and functional inspections of completed repairs.
• Check fluid levels, tire pressures, and torque specifications.
• Conduct basic road tests (if permitted) to verify repair quality.
• Ensure vehicles meet internal standards before delivery to customers.

General Technician Duties:

• Assist with basic maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Support diagnostic and repair processes under supervision of lead technicians.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services performed.
• Ensure proper use and care of shop tools and equipment.

Shop and Vehicle Support:

• Keep the shop clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Stage and move vehicles safely within the shop and parking areas.
• Handle both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
• Perform light detailing such as vacuuming and surface cleaning of vehicles.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Basic automotive knowledge or vocational training a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset.
