Overview:
The client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join their logistics team. This is a fully remote contract position with the potential to convert to a permanent role. The ideal candidate will have extensive systems administration experience (10+ years) and a strong background in logistics and retail environments. Experience in project management and system testing is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Application Deployment & Onboarding: Assist in the deployment of applications and onboarding processes for new systems.
• Logistics Knowledge Management: Maintain a deep understanding of logistics processes and platforms to ensure effective system functionality.
• Post-Change Validation: Perform post-change validation activities to ensure successful outcomes from system changes.
• System Patches & Upgrades: Manage testing and provide detailed presentations on the benefits of system patches and upgrades.
• Issue Resolution: Field incoming requests and problem tickets from end users, working to resolve application-related issues.
• Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with business partners and IT teams to enhance system functionality and operational efficiency.
• Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate system updates and escalate issues to stakeholders as needed.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate efforts between logistics, IT, and third-party application providers to resolve issues and ensure system stability.
• Project Management: Lead project management activities for major initiatives, ensuring timelines are met. (Note: Project management is not the primary focus of the role.)
• Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for new processes, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and key business decisions.

Systems Experience:

• Experience with custom client systems.
• Experience with trade compliance systems (e.g., Datecart) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Logistics and retail industry experience.
• Strong preference for candidates with longer tenures at previous roles.

Required Skills:

• Project management experience.
• Hands-on experience with system issue logging, tracking, and stakeholder communication.
• Experience with system testing and troubleshooting.
• Trade compliance experience (preferred).
