This position is for a Respiratory Therapist in Wilmington, North Carolina. The role involves providing respiratory care to patients in an ICU and ED setting, including airway management, medication administration, ventilator management, and various other respiratory treatments. The successful candidate will have experience in a trauma and teaching hospital environment and will be part of a storm/hurricane response team. A 12-hour day shift with every other weekend requirement is expected.

Responsibilities:
- Airway management
- Medication administration

- ABG interpretation and analysis
- Oxygen therapy
- Suctioning
- Pulmonary toileting
- Bronchoscopy assistance
- Nebulizer treatments
- BiPAP/CPAP operation
- Patient education
- Documentation in EPIC system
- Participation in Storm/Hurricane Team response
- General floor care (ICU & ED)
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience
- Experience with airway management, medication administration, ventilator management, ABGs, oxygen therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, bronchoscopy, nebulizers, BiPAP, and CPAP
- BLS, ACLS, RRT, PALS certifications
- Experience in a trauma and teaching hospital setting
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Traveler experience (unit will accept first-time travelers)
Special Considerations:
- 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week
- No overtime billed until after 40 hours.
- 7-day maximum RTO (Return to Office). RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation and DNR (Do Not Reschedule).
- Every other weekend requirement.
- Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work on a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team.
- Contract staff may be required to report during catastrophic events or disasters.
- Potential for unit assignment changes during the contract.
