The Skagit Table in Mount Vernon, WA is looking for a Market Team Staff Member to join our team. We are located on 225 S 1st Street. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, punctual, and engaged.

Role Overview: We’re seeking an outgoing and detail-oriented individual for the role of Market Team Staff Member. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, excel in organization and problem-solving, and have a passion for local and healthy food, we want to hear from you!

In this role, you’ll represent our brand at farmers markets and other markets or trade shows, engaging with customers and promoting our catering services and storefront products. You’ll ensure the booth is set up beautifully and stocked with care, transporting items safely from our shop to the event locations.

Key Responsibilities:

Transport & Setup: Safely load, transport, and unload products and display materials from our storefront to market and trade show locations. Assemble and arrange the booth in an attractive and inviting way.

Customer Engagement: Provide friendly and knowledgeable service, answering questions about our catering offerings and storefront products as well as the products you are selling at the market.

Sales & Transactions: Process sales accurately and efficiently using a point-of-sale system.

Brand Representation: Act as the face of The Skagit Table, embodying our values of fresh, local, and quality ingredients in every customer interaction.

Attention to Detail: Maintain inventory accuracy, ensure products are displayed attractively, and monitor booth cleanliness throughout events.

Physical Requirements:

• Long periods standing/walking;
• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs.;
• Ability to crouch, kneel, bend, or reach overhead and below the waist;
• Ability to drive a motor vehicle.

Other Requirements:

Food Industry Experience: Prior experience in food service, retail, or a related field is preferred.

Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for engaging with customers and delivering excellent service.

Organizational Skills: High level of attention to detail to ensure booth setup, inventory, and sales are managed flawlessly.

Valid Driver’s License: Required for transporting products and materials.

Desired:

• Experience working markets

Compensation: $18-22 per hour + tips

Schedule:

• Some weekends with occasional weekdays
• Open availability required Wednesday through Sunday.
