Founded in 2011, Clearly Filtered has established itself as a trusted brand in the direct to customer, e-Commerce space by specializing in powerful water filtration products that are designed to help people reduce their exposure to harmful environmental toxins and contaminants found in tap water.

Clearly Filtered is looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Controller who thrives on building structure and is instrumental in laying the financial foundation of our growing e-commerce company. This role requires someone who can roll up their sleeves, implement scalable processes, and provide strategic insights to support decision-making and growth. The ideal candidate brings a well-rounded skill-set, combining strong interpersonal skills with financial accuracy and competency. 

 

What you will do:

Accounting Operations

• Oversee all core accounting functions, including the general ledger, accounts payable, financial reporting, and close processes (monthly, quarterly, year-end).
• Establish and maintain robust policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  
   

Budgeting, Forecasting & Strategic Support

• Lead the annual budgeting process and manage rolling forecasts, variance analysis, and performance reporting. 
• Provide leadership with proactive, data-driven insights to inform strategic planning, scenario modeling, and long-term growth initiatives.
  
   

Cash Flow Management

• Manage daily cash position, short-term cash forecasting, working capital planning, and credit card transactions and reconciliation.
  
   

Compliance & Risk Management

• Lead sales tax compliance, nexus monitoring, audit preparedness, and corporate insurance administration. 
• Act as primary liaison for financial and regulatory audits.
  
   

Inventory & COGS Accounting

• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation, costing, and COGS reporting. 
• Maintain financial dashboards and KPI reporting tools.
  
   

People Management

• Proven ability to lead and mentor a high-performing team with a focus on growth and continuous feedback.
• Foster a people-first environment through coaching, inclusive decision-making, and strong communication to build a team culture that’s collaborative, curious, and accountable.
  
   

What you need to have:

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Proven experience building accounting systems and internal controls
• High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Experience managing sales tax compliance and audits
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  
   

Preferred

• Understanding of inventory and cost accounting
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online
• Background in e-commerce and/or consumer goods

Salary range :
$120,000.00 - $140,000.00 annually depending on experience, education, and qualifications.
