Roles & Responsibilities:
We are seeking a molecular Associate Researcher with wet lab experience to explore the molecular pathophysiology underlying addiction, particularly focusing on epigenetic mechanisms. The research program, focuses on examining biological specimens from human substance users and rodent models. Ideal candidates will possess a demonstrated background and skills in molecular biology and biochemical approaches, with the ability to independently execute experimental procedures. Experience with processing biological samples for downstream sequencing strategies such as RNA-seq and ATAC-seq including nuclei extraction, DNA tagmentation and purification, and library amplification, is important.
The successful candidate will conduct basic molecular and biochemical assays, such as electrophoresis using a TapeStation system and quantitative PCR using a LightCycler, on brain and PBMC specimens from human drug users and animal addiction models. Working within a team environment to achieve research goals, close interaction with laboratory assistants and graduate students, and maintaining detailed records in a lab notebook are integral parts of the role. Strong motivation for research, a solid work ethic, and excellent organizational and communication skills are highly valued.
Other responsibilities also involve organizing and analyzing data, creating figures using Microsoft computer programs, and maintaining laboratory operations, such as ordering supplies

Compensation
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $16.5 - $34.1212 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
