Job Description:
Our client is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to provide management with with insights into emerging loss experience and and the financial implications of past and future underwriting decisions. This position also assists with compliance related to complex regulatory issues.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop loss reserves, including establishing quarterly reserving techniques and creating a model to monitor losses..
  • Conduct premium rate development, including the analysis of relativities and discount programs.
  • Serve as a liaison to external actuaries to ensure efficient and effective use of consulting services.
  • Assist in product development and policy enhancements.
  • Support the development and maintenance of experience rating models for groups.
  • Contribute to the presentation of data for rating agencies.
  • Develop predictive analytics for evaluating immature losses. 
  • Deliver quality service across all areas of responsibility.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, actuarial science or related (preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in predictive modeling, advanced analytics or data analytics; property and casualty insurance, reinsurance, or consulting (preferred)
  • Proficiency in R, SQL, Python, or similar programming languages
  • Proficiency is statistical modeling techniques such as GLM, GAM, GBM, decision trees, linear regression, logistic regression
  • 3-5 actuarial exams toward ACAS, FCAS or similar actuarial credential, or an advanced technical degree in a related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Experience in reserving and financial reporting
  • Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society
  • Proficiency in predictive analytics
  • Experience with professional liability (preferred)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts in layman's terms
  • Strong problem-solving,  analytical and mathematical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills
  • Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to take ownership of projects
  • High ethical standards
  • Commitment to completing actuarial studies (if not already completed)
Pay Range:
The anticipated pay range for this position is $115,000 annually, based on experience.

The final pay for this position is determined based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant experience, skills and certifications, education and training, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity.
